1.What is CSC? 

 Under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) formulated by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY), Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India, the Common Services Centers (CSCs) are conceptualized as ICT enabled, front end service delivery points for delivery of Government, Social and Private Sector services in the areas of agriculture, health, education, entertainment, FMCG products, banking and financial services, utility payments, etc 

 2.How CSC works? 

CSC e-Governance Services India Limited is a Special Purpose Vehicle (CSC SPV) and is connecting local population with the Government departments, banks, and insurance companies and with various service providers in private sector using IT-Enabled network of citizen service points.

 3.Who are VLE’s? 

VLE’s are Village Level Entrepreneur who delivers various government and non-government services to the end consumers from the CSC outlet (mostly owned).

 4.What is a CSC Centre?

 CSC Centre is the place from where the VLE would operate all his activities/ work and serve the users or the customers. 

 5.What are the pre-requisite to enrol on the registration portal? 

 Pre-requisite for enrolling on the registration portal:
1. Registration is allowed only for the people who are 18 years and above and is the citizens of India.
2.They should either have a valid Telecentre Entrepreneur Course (TEC) Certificate or should register under specific schemes like SHG or RDD. 
 3.For the application type as CSC VLE, it is mandatory to have a TEC Certificate Number. Applicant can register at http://www.cscentrepreneur.in/register for TEC Certification.
4.For registering under the specific schemes like SHG the applicant should provide their name, mobile, state and district for white listing and request DMs to add them. In case of RDD, applicant should have the Registration code as per the selection made.
 

6. What are the documents required while doing the registration as a VLE? 

 Following documents mentioned below are required while doing the registration:
1. Applicant photo
2.Proof of Identity
3.Proof of Address
4.Cancelled copy of cheque/passbook
 

7.What all are the system requirements for registering on CSC? 

 System requirements are:
1. At least 120 GB Hard Disc Drive.
2.At least 512 MB RAM.
3.CD/DVD Drive.
4.UPS PC with Licensed Windows XP-SP2 or above operating system.
5.With 4 hrs battery backup/Portable Genset.
6.Printer/ Colour Printer.
7.Web cam/digital camera.
8.Scanner.
9.Internet connection with at least 128 kbps speed for browsing & data uploading over internet.

8. What is an application number?

 The application number is a unique number that is generated after successful registration. You can track your application status by this unique number.

9.What is Virtual ID (VID)? 

 VID is a temporary, revocable 16-digit random number mapped with the Aadhaar number. It is not possible to derive the Aadhaar number from VID.

10.What are the features of Registration Portal? 

 Basic features of Registration Portal are:
a)CERTIFICATE DOWNLOAD - VLEs can download their CSC VLE certificate from My account section
b)PROFILE VIEW - Can view the profile and check the status of the account easily
c)KYC UPDATE -User can update the basic information such as personal details, pan bank and communication details
d)STATUS TRACK -User can track the application status and get the latest updates about it
e)ID CARD DOWNLOAD -New feature of ID card has been added in the My account section to allow the VLEs to have their own ID card
f)CREDENTIALS RESET -User can reset and update the password of CSC Connect through Account settings
g)MISSING DATA REPORTING -VLE can also report missing GEO data and missing IFSC code which will be further verified by our CSC team
 

11. How can I register as a VLE?

 To register as a Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) in the CSC, simply follow the steps mentioned below:
1. Visit the URL http://register.csc.gov.in and apply under new registration.
2. Click on “Apply” button displayed
3. Validate mobile & email and fill the form .
4. Enter your Aadhaar number, and further add the Captcha Text.
5. Click on “Submit” button”.
6. After authentication, the user is required to fill the information under the following tabs, such as: Personal, Residential, Kiosk, Banking, Document, infrastructure, Certifications/Terms.
7. Review your details and click on “Submit” button to register yourself and an application reference ID will be generated.
8. You will receive an acknowledgement email regarding successful completion of your application on your email address provided during the registration process
9. Every application goes through a strict quality check.
10. Post verification, user becomes an active Village Level Entrepreneur and gets a unique CSC ID on your registered email address.

12.Post Successful Verification of the Applicant, what are the next steps? 

 Post successful verification the applicant shall
1. Account confirmation over the registered Email address
2. CSC connect credentials over the registered Email address.
3. Able to access My account services in the Registration Portal

13. Is there any fees for the registering as a VLE? 

There is no fee for registration as a VLE. It is absolutely free of cost.

14.What would be my responsibilities as VLE? 

 As a VLE you should take care of few important points:
a) Make sure your centre is at public place with all the safety and convenience.
b) Availability of Kiosk from 08:00 AM to 08:00 PM.
c) To deliver the services smoothly to the users as available on Digital Seva Portal.

15.Do I need any training to become a VLE? 

No. You don’t need any specific training to become a VLE. Meeting the minimum criteria as mentioned in the pre-requisite is enough to become a VLE 

 16.I don’t know my VID. How can I generate my VID? 

Visit the UIDAI website and generate/retrieve your VID. 

 17.What if my application is rejected, can I apply again? 

Yes, you can apply again 

 18.How much time it takes to generate the CSC ID?

 It would take almost 2 weeks (15days) to generate the CSC ID. 

 19. How can I track my Application Status? To track your application:

a) Visit the URL https://register.csc.gov.in
b) Click on “Apply” tab and select “Status Check” option.
c) Enter your application id and Captcha Text. Click on “Submit” button.

20.How can I surrender my CSC ID?

  • Click here and download the form.
  • Fill the form manually, and duly sign the form.
  • Submit the form to the respective state team head.
  • Once the state team share the form with CSC.
  • CSC will check all the details and take the action accordingly & deactivate the CSC ID.

  • 21.What is the role of “My Account section”?

     My Account is a one-stop-shop for anyone who is a registered VLE. As a Village Level Entrepreneur, they will have exclusive access to online self-service including the ability to view the VLE Profile, update details and manage credentials for Connect. 

     22.If I face Error in PAN and Bank update/or not able to submit the application. How can I resolve it?

     Check for the error message messages displayed screen thereafter check for all the fields if they are filled properly, check for spaces and special characters included if not find and remove that. 

     23. If I am getting the error message “Aadhaar number does not have both email and mobile”, suggest the solution? 

    You may go onto the UIDAI website and verify your mobile and email address.

     24. If I forgot to download application reference form. What is the solution for this? 

    You can get the reprint of the form from Registration Portal under Apply Module. Click Here 

     25.If I forget my connect password, how can I restore it?

     In case you forgot your connect password reset through OTP or old password mechanism i.e. go through account settings in my account sections and update. 

     26.If I am Unable to login on DSP and my account status says inactive, what can be the reason for the same?

     The cause for this is that your account is blocked for some reason, please write to help desk or reach us out at 011 4975 4923, 011 4975 4924.

     27.Why I am unable to update my PAN? 

     There may be few reasons or scenario:
    If you have recently updated your PAN it would take 2 weeks time to process newly updated PAN. Please wait for at least 15 days.
    In case your issue is not resolved after 15 days also, you may reach out our helpdesk team for the concern. 

     28. What is Telecentre Entrepreneur Courses (TEC)? 

    Telecentre Entrepreneur Courses (TEC) is a certification course designed by CSC Academy. On completion of this course, the user will be eligible to open his/her CSC centre (Digital Centre) and apply as a Village Level Entrepreneur in the CSC network. This course is useful for anyone with budding talent to start an Information & Communication Technology (ICT) based Centre so that community may be served with digital technology. 

     29. How TEC certification number will be generated?

     Once the applicant has completed the course; a TEC certification number will be generated which will further be used for registering as a VLE.
